The Wanderlust Travel Tag

One thing you’ll notice as you begin to see more and more of my blogposts and tweets is that I have a love to travel. The sensation of booking a trip or going somewhere new or out of the ordinary is one that can beat no other for me, a bit like your younger brother or sister on Christmas Eve. After its all planned i’ll begin to prance around with a grin loaned from the Cheshire Cat whilst informing every Tom, Dick and Harry that i’m either holiday shopping or going later that week. I’ll then proceed to make countdowns and spend the time it would’ve taken me to pack my suitcase picking a background to accompany my countdown app. It was that bad that if I ever had a had a day off for any reason in secondary school everyone would just assume I was on holiday.

Now lets get into the tag!

Where was your first plane to?

Now this one I had to come back to towards the end as I honestly had a complete blank of where it was but i’m now informed that my first flight was in fact to Cyprus! One of my now favourite countries.

Where have you travelled to that you would love to travel again?

I would love to go to Italy again and most likely take my friends or family with me. I visited Rome with school one year and it was honestly breathtaking. It had a feeling that I have never felt before. What more could I have wanted when I was submerged in Sun, Gelato and Pizza. I’ll never forget the views of the sistine chapel and the little Italian cobbled streets. It’s just somewhere I would love to show my family around and drown myself in margarita pizza.

You’re leaving tomorrow, money is no object where are you going?

BORA BORA – I know I most likely sound so cliché but its one of the top places on my bucket list to visit, so, if money was no object i’d be hopping in my private jet and living it up on one of the overwater bungalows just like the Kardashians did and of course i’d have to go snorkelling to see if I could spot Kim’s diamond earring!

Preferred method of travel; planes, trains or cars?

I really don’t think this is too much of a decision for me to make. I love the buzz of going on going on a plane and the whole lead up to it and of course, where better to go shopping than at duty free although I never seem to end up actually having the time to go as we always seem to end up rushing through to the gates. I also love planning the whole flight and of course making the obligatory spotify playlist for the flight!

Favourite travel website?

I love trip advisor. Although I do think that it is prone to many moody travellers who expect the ritz in a 3 star hotel, I find that it is the perfect place to get to grips with a hotels facilities from a ‘normal’ persons perspective and not a hotels own written description aiming to sell you it. I also love browsing through at all the other locations and trips nearby and seeing peoples opinions and rough prices. I like how it also has question sections so you can find out minimal things that you may never have considered, ‘Does the room have a hairdryer’ for example is a popular one. Although, make sure you don’t end up engaged in one persons negative views and become intertwined with that as after all that is only one persons view.

Where would you travel to just eat the food?

Rome, of course! Needless to say and I think I made it pretty clear in one of the previous questions but I could think of nothing better than engrossing myself in Pizza, Pasta and Gelato again. America would be the next one, I’ve always wanted to visit an old style American diner!

Is there a place you would never go again?

Ummm, this is a hard one for me. I never like to rule out places as I think there is always somewhere else to explore but I’m going to stay local – sorta – and say Newport in Wales. For years I have always wanted to go to Wales and see the valleys and I had a mental image of all the cheesy tv shows like Gavin and Stacey come to mind however it was not what I expected, no Welsh accents, no valleys and really not a lot. Although, the Hilton Newport is a must if you’re in the area!

Can you recite your passport number from memory if asked?

Nooo, I literally do not have a single clue! Is this a thing? I feel like I have now let myself down *grabs passport and starts reciting*.

Do you prefer the Window, Aisle, or Middle seat?

Now, I love the window seat in regard to having the view out the window because I love looking out during take off and landing but most flights I go on are into the night so there isn’t much too see during landing so I just get bored ha! So, overall I love the aisle seat because I can literally never stay sat down and hate having to climb over everyone and in some cases a stranger to get to the loo! I could never sit in the middle though like I hate the idea of being stuck in between people especially on a long flightttt…

How do you pass the time on the airplane?

I usually download music and bring a book but I end up just getting bored and sitting there staring at the back of the seat in front and flicking through the overpriced catalogue! I do love downloading loads of things of netflix to binge, like… GOSSIP GIRRLLL!

I hope you enjoyed this tag as much as I enjoyed making it! Thank you to all the wonderful bloggers who helped inspire this post.

I am going to be uploading every Friday, so here’s to the first blog post in this schedule, WHOOP!
